WORSHIP

Sunday School Update

We are pleased to announce that we are beginning a new Sunday school program called Bold Transformational Faith created by the team at Crossroads/Luther Crest camps. They provide weekly lesson plans based on the Revised Common Lectionary that we use in the church. The curriculum includes lessons, videos and newsletters. Each week, we will have one of our Sunday school teachers lead the in-person classes. Then, we will email the materials to you all for those who are worshiping virtually. I have attached the materials from Sunday's class. The link to the video, which is fun and informative, is below. We hope that this new program inspires and enriches the faith life of your children. Please email Rev. Ellen if you have any questions.

Sunday School begins at 10:10 am. Mary Foster will lead the class this week. The lessons will be emailed to our virtual families every Monday. You can register your children online here: https://www.stpaulschatham.org/sunday-school-registration

NEWS

Altar Flowers

At St. Paul's, Altar Flowers are often donated in memory of a loved one. Altar Flowers, however, may be donated for any reason--to the glory of God, in thanksgiving for a loved one's recovery, a new birth in the family, or anything you feel called to memorialize. For more information on supporting the Altar Flower ministry (which strives to be self-supporting) and donating flowers, please email the office.

Vestry Update

The Vestry met virtually on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. The budget for 2022 was approved. Outreach distributions were made: North Porch ($1,500), the Food Bank ($2,312), The Seaman’s Institute ($1,000), Bridges ($500), and Crossroads ($1,500) to add to previous disbursements for Outreach. Building and Grounds reports that the carpet replacement (necessary because of rippling) will likely be done in stages with the sanctuary and narthex replaced first and the rest of the upper floor done in the future. Upcoming events include the Visitation by the Bishop, Greening of the Church, and the Christmas services. Transition meetings with the Diocese are ongoing. Rev. Ellen will organize a Calling Campaign to reach out to members of the congregation we haven’t seen or heard from recently.

At the Organ...

What most of us don't see each week on Sunday is the active teamwork of Nancy and Jim Little. Jim Little, as you may know, is our organist and choir director. Nancy Little, Jim's wife, sings alto in the choir and turns pages expertly for Jim. Obviously, a wonderful team!
