Welcome to The Episcopal Church of St. Paul,
Your Neighborhood Church
A
Message of Welcome from Elizabeth Kaeton, rector and pastor
"Knowing that we can be loved exactly as we are gives us all the
best opportunity for growing into the healthiest of people." Fred
M. Rogers,
Mr. Rogers Neighborhood.
I am delighted to welcome you to the cyber pages of this "virtual
neighborhood."
We like to think of ourselves as "Your Neighborhood Church."
We mean that in the way Jesus taught us to think of our neighbors. (Luke
10: 25-37)
As you will see from some of the pictures and descriptions on this website,
this is a place where you will meet many of your neighbors.
Your children will be learning about God and 'the old, old stories of
Jesus and His love' with many of the kids who attend the same neighborhood
school.
You will be learning about the unconditional love of God, the humanity
and divinity of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit as we have come
to know ourselves as followers of Jesus who are Episcopalians and members
of the 77 million world wide Anglican Communion.
This is a place where you and they will learn that the family of God
comes in all sort and variety of constellations, and that neighbors are
not just those who live on your street, or in this town. Our baptism makes
us citizens of a much larger community of saints who have been, are here
now, and are yet to come. We are uniquely called to "love God with
all our heart, and all our soul, and all our strength, and all our mind,
and to love our neighbor as ourselves."
Absolutely everyone is welcome in this place, because we know that God
loves absolutely everyone unconditionally. We believe that when we welcome
you, we are welcoming Jesus, whose sacred body we are.
I hope you will visit us some Sunday. Soon. Or, call to stop by for a
cup of coffee or tea and have a chat with me or any one of our staff.
See what we mean when we say that our mission is:
Come. Grow. Celebrate.
Blessings,
(the Rev'd) Elizabeth Kaeton
