Massive flooding in Kerala, India has killed over 400 people and displaced over a million people. Torrential rainfalls in July and early August forced officials to open 35 of 54 dams in Kerala causing the worst flood in about a century.
While the waters have receded in most areas, the recovery phase will be painful and costly. We are looking to raise funds for people affected in our home town, Arunmula, which was one of the 14 hardest hit districts in Kerala. On September 16, during coffee hour, we will be selling Indian treats and drawing henna to raise funds for this endeavor.
